FAQ
While one day is never enough to visit all the places in Delhi, these are some most recommended sightseeing places where you must go during your Delhi tour:
- Akshardham Temple:
The meaning of this temple is the ‘abode of God.’ It was built in late 2005 in honor of Bhagwan Swaminarayan. The facade outside of the temple is made with the help of detailed carvings on sandstone. White marble is used in the flooring. Greenish ny garden areas, fountains, a step-well-styled courtyard, a museum, and a mini theatre makes the scenic beauty of this place mesmerizing. There are a total of more than twenty thousand statues of different Hindu sages, devas, and acharyas in the temple.
Interestingly, while around 8000 volunteers took part in the making of it , over 3,00,000,000 volunteer hours were taken to make it. You are not allowed to carry cell phones and cameras within the premises. As a result, spending more time in this peaceful environment with family & friends is possible.
- Red Fort, Delhi:
Red Fort is famous for the historical importance of the Mughal and British eras. This tourist spot in Delhi was included in the list of World Heritage Sites by UNESCO In 2007. It is spread across 256 acres. When you have the fort’s aerial view, you can see that its shape is octagonal. Red sandstones were used for their creation under the reign of Mughal Emperor Shahjahan. This destination was previously used for the storage of precious jewels like the Koh-i-Noor diamond, the jade wine cup of Shah Jahan, and the crown of Bahadur Shah II. But the Britishers loot these later. The opening and closing time of the fort is 9.30 am & 4.30 pm respectively. It remains closed on Monday.
- India Gate, Delhi:
It is in the central part of India’s capital. More than thirteen thousand soldiers made this large pillar. You can see a war memorial and a children’s park here.
You can have a taste of Lemon soda, Fried delights, Momos with Red hot Chutney, Chickpeas with bread, Rajma Chawal (Kidney Beans with Rice), Chole Bhature, Also some Mughlai taste like Nihari, Biryani, Kewabs, etc.
